Old Car

Back in the 90s, India way pretty close to being a communist democracy.  Unlike the USSR, information flowed relatively freely, but the gov't still put its hands into and stifled a lot of the business world.  The economy was closed.  The predictable result was that consumers had to wait a long time for many common consumer goods.

After ordering it, my uncle had to wait year for this car to arrive....  Once he had it, the family took loving care of it, fixing it whenever it broke down, since replacement would have been near impossible.

Those days are gone, now car dealerships are everywhere, and modern cars flood the roads....  But old habits die hard and my cousins still drive and take care of the old car (it must be about 30 years old now).
