Pataleshwar Caves

Pune is home base for me, but it is foreign to N.  So when we were planning the trip, N naturally asked me what the "sites" to see were.

Huh?  Pune has sites?  I never really thought to think it....  It is where dad grew up, and I remember a lot of cows on the streets and good falooda, but you come here to see grandma's old place and chat with the relatives, doesn't everyone?  There are no "sites"!

Well, after a bit of research, N proved me wrong.

The amazing thing about the Pataleshwar Caves is....  None of this was assembled.  This was all carved out of uniform underground rock!

The caves were carved over a millennium ago.

Here is an ancient game carved into the floor.
