Memphis, TN, Central BBQ


Would you believe that we found a Memphis BBQ with vegetarian offerings?




Memphis is known for its ribs, and they come in two varieties, wet and dry. The place was nice enough to make up a batch half wet and half dry. The round thing on the right was a BBQ portabella sandwich, and I can tell you it was excellent, perhaps the best portaballa I've ever had. In fact we consider this the best place we visited in the south.





For dessert it was peanut butter pie and a vanilla ice cream brownie.





These creepy smiley pig faces show up all over the south, signifying BBQ. It was dark and this pictures didn't come up so well, but the pigs are usually all baby butt pink and grinning from ear to ear.
